Additional Staff
New Leaf Systems has a number of specialists on board to bring our clients
the resources and skills they need. All specialists are hand-picked and are
chosen through a rigorous selection process based on their experience, expertise,
and accomplishment.
And a more personal note from Kerul:
As someone who has always had great attraction to and affection for animals,
I'm in heaven playing with puppies and have (more than once) driven down a
road, spotted someone walking a particularly irresistible pup, and pulled over
just to get some puppy love. Locally, as president of Mobilization for Animal
Rights (a non-profit organization) for over a decade, I helped raise awareness
and funds to help homeless and abused animals of all kinds, as well as fostering
and adopting a number of them myself.
I'm an avid birder, having gone abroad more than once to see the flora and fauna
of places afar. I've been honored to be asked to participate in the acclaimed
World Series of Birding for the past 8 years, raising thousands of dollars for
Hackensack Riverkeeper, and birding for over 15 hours, non-stop. I’ve spearheaded
Christmas Bird Counts and Bird Nesting Surveys in Florida. As a diehard environmentalist,
I've helped prevent unnecessary development of watershed lands, and lead birding
walks to educate people about the rich abundance of life in their communities
and the importance of habitat preservation. Recently I installed a solar
photovoltaic system in my home which lowers my “environmental footprint” by
supplying over half the energy for my household and business needs.
I thrive on juggling a number of projects and tasks (could you have guessed?!)
and am always involved in many things at once. For me, it's a fine line between
just enough and too much, and I'm always happiest skating on the edge.
Two weeks after graduating from Goddard College with a B.A. in Liberal Arts (psychology,
philosophy, natural science, and literature), I enrolled in and later graduated
from the same institution's Master of Science program in Social Ecology. I am
currently enrolled in a doctoral program in Human Development at Fielding Graduate
University – the focus of my doctoral study is optimizing human potential.
A sampling of some of the jobs I've had fun in over the past 25 years include
singing in bar bands (during and just after college... a blast!), working as
a landscaper (tough and exhausting!!), managing a fitness center (interesting),
and working in a greenhouse/nursery (enlivening and educational, though sometimes
quite chilly and dirty!). More volunteer efforts include 10 years as president
of the board of directors of a wonderful and successful natural/organic foods
cooperative, acting as Clean Communities Coordinator for my town, and serving
on numerous other boards and committees of various non-profit groups.
Married for 15 years, my husband and I share a very delightful and amazingly
enriching relationship. We have a pair of very endearing and angelic (of course!)
canine “kids,” a pair of wonderfully affectionate and delightful
horses, and live fairly simply (for Americans), free of debt, and financially
independent. I maintain a migratory lifestyle, spending colder months in Central
Florida and warmer ones in the Catskill Mountains. |
